Smart From The Start

Medgene Labs was founded in 2011 and is based in Brookings, South Dakota. The young, ambitious and extremely dedicated company is affiliated with South Dakota Innovation Partners, a venture capital firm with offices in Brookings and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Through its unique RapidxTMdevelopment platform, the visionary team at Medgene Labs has developed a faster, less costly and more efficient method for diagnosing and treating animals with infectious diseases without having to infect the animal. Medgene Labs has also patented a revolutionary air sampling system, the MobileAir Xtractor 400 (MAX400), that is used by producers and researchers to monitor airborne pathogens potentially threatening their operations. The company has several patented and proprietary systems and is actively concentrating on a Rift Valley Fever vaccine, a Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Vaccine and several other animal vaccine products. Our staff is fascinated by innovation, scientific discovery and endless possibilities. We start by thinking smarter, and we never stop.

Meet Our Team

Our Mission: Making an Impact

In a nutshell, the mission of Medgene Labs is to prevent disease. Through technology, biomedical research and vaccine development, our current focus is preventing the spread and transmission of infectious diseases in food animals (though that's not all we're capable of doing). The global challenge to protect the world's food supply is critical not only to the health of people and animals but also to the world's economy. By working with the US Department of Agriculture, the Department of Homeland Security, the National Institute of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and others aligned with our mission, Medgene Labs is working hard toward a "mission complete."
